No vendemos datos personales.

BookClock is an appointment booking service for professionals and businesses, available at bookclock.app and as an app for Shopify stores. This policy explains which personal data we process, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can have it deleted.

Data we process

Professionals and businesses: account email, business name, service details, image, hours and settings. In the Shopify app, also: the store’s domain, name, email and time zone, and an access token to the store, which we store encrypted.

People who book: name, email, phone and note if they leave them, the date and time of the booking, the service, language, and any deposit receipts they upload (bookclock.app only). When a Shopify store charges for a booking, the payment is made in that store’s checkout: we keep the amount, the currency and the order number, never card details. Customer accounts on bookclock.app also store their name, their email and a hashed password.

In the Android app: an identifier for sending you notifications (from Firebase Cloud Messaging, by Google), which we use to tell you about new bookings, changes and cancellations. It is deleted with the account. The app uses no Google Analytics and no measurement cookies.

Technical data: IP address, used to limit abuse and kept for a limited time in server logs.

Why we use it

To provide the service: show available times, record bookings, send confirmations, reminders and cancellation notices, and notify the professional of new bookings if they turned that on.

In the Shopify app, each person who books from the store is created or updated as a customer in that merchant’s Shopify admin, tagged "BookClock" with the date of their latest booking. They are not subscribed to any marketing.

When the store charges for a booking, we create a draft order in its Shopify with the booking and the name and email of the person booking, so they pay in the store’s checkout, and we read that order’s payment notice to confirm the booking.

To bill subscriptions (on Shopify, through Shopify’s billing) and to keep the service secure.

In the Shopify app, the store’s name and email, when it installed and uninstalled the app, its plan and whether it took bookings in the last 30 days also go into our customer records, the same ones we keep for the other Shopify apps we make at DevCloud: to support the store and to write to it about BookClock and those apps. Nothing about the people who book goes there.

Who is responsible for what

Each professional or store is the controller of their customers’ data, and BookClock processes it on their behalf to provide the service. If you booked an appointment, you can ask the professional or store for your data or its deletion; you can also contact us.

Who we share it with

The professional or store you book with. Providers we rely on to operate: hosting and infrastructure (DigitalOcean), email delivery (SendGrid), payments (Stripe and MercadoPago on bookclock.app; Shopify in its app), Shopify, for stores using the app, and Google, for the Android app’s notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), to measure how the site is used (Google Analytics) and, if you accept cookies, to tell which ads bring new accounts (Google Ads). If a business connects an AI assistant, the AI app that business chose (see "AI agents (MCP)"). We do not sell personal data.

AI agents (MCP)

A business owner can connect an AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to their account through our MCP server. With their permission, that assistant can read and change what the owner can in the dashboard: bookings, clients, hours, services, deposits and receipts, reminders, statistics and the plan. It cannot change the password, delete the account or create tokens, and it moves no money: it does not charge, refund or pay anyone; for the plan it only returns a payment link the owner pays in their browser.

What the assistant reads, including the personal data of people who book (name, email, phone, notes and deposit receipts), is sent to the AI app the owner chose, and its provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. Connecting an assistant is the owner’s decision, and the owner remains the controller of that data.

Access is by OAuth tokens the owner approves on a BookClock page, or by tokens the owner creates, and the owner can revoke them at any time from Settings → AI agents (MCP); changing the password or signing out everywhere revokes them all. We store only a hash of each token. A connection’s access expires after an hour and renews while it is used; unused for 90 days, it expires. Revoked or expired connections are kept for 90 days as a record of who had access, then deleted.

We do not receive or store conversations with the assistant: only the calls to our tools, which run as the owner. For each call, the server logs record which tool was used, for which account and whether it worked, and are kept for a limited time, like other technical logs.

How long we keep it

For as long as the account is active. You can delete it at any time, from the Android app or from bookclock.app ("Your account" → "Delete account"); bookclock.app/delete-account explains how and what is deleted. On Shopify: when the app is uninstalled we delete the access token immediately, and 48 hours later, when Shopify asks us to, we delete the personal data of the store and of everyone who booked: names, emails, phone numbers, notes, addresses, transfer details, receipts and images. We keep, with nothing that identifies a person, the booking history (date, service and amount) and the plan’s payments, which are part of our accounting records. The customer record described above is kept until the store asks us to delete it at sales@devcloudsoftware.com. When a store asks us to delete one of its customers’ data, we remove everything that identifies that customer from their bookings with that store, and their receipts.

Links to manage a booking without an account expire and are deleted. Technical logs are kept for a limited time.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed, Shopify access tokens are stored encrypted, and payment receipts can only be seen by the professional and the person who uploaded them.

Cookies

Without asking, because the site needs them to work, bookclock.app uses a session cookie to keep you signed in, one that remembers the language if you choose it, and one that remembers your answer to the cookie notice.

Only if you accept the cookie notice: Google Analytics sets its cookies to measure how the site is used, and if you arrived from a Google ad we keep the id of that click (gclid) in a cookie for up to 90 days. If you then create an account, that id is stored with it so we can tell which ads bring new accounts and report them to Google Ads; it is used for nothing else. If you do not accept, Google Analytics runs without cookies and we keep no click id. You can change your answer at any time from "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page; rejecting deletes a stored click id.

The app inside the Shopify admin and the booking widget in stores do not use tracking cookies.

Your rights and contact

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your data by writing to sales@devcloudsoftware.com. We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
